The Red Mask Players present on Aug. 22 and 23 two one-act plays by Christopher Durang for their 2008 summer production,
In Durang's parody “The Actor’s Nightmare,” George wanders onstage and is informed he must replace one of the actors immediately. Since no one is sure of what play is being performed, George fumbles through one missed cue after another. In the comedy “Wanda’s Visit,” Jim and Marsha have been married for thirteen years and are feeling a little bored and unhappy. Wanda, Jim's old girlfriend, shows up. Wanda can't stop talking, flirts inappropriately, and tells long stories of her past and possibly criminal activities. Marsha's response is polite but strained; Jim is flattered by the attention until he starts to find it all too much.
A talented group of new actors and directors, along with some familiar faces, will provide a hilarious night of entertainment.
Performances begin at 8 p.m.Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22-23 at the Kathryn Randolph Theater. Admission is $5. Tickets will be sold at the box office the night of the performance.
